D’fhreastail foireann Ghnó Mhaigh Eo ar MeetWest, an t-imeacht is mó um líonrú gnó in iarthar na hÉireann. Reáchtáladh an ócáid in Óstán Chnoc Raithní i gCathair na Mart, an 21 agus 22 Samhain.

Cuireadh tús leis an gcomhdháil ag am lóin Déardaoin le focal fáilte ó Bhainsteoir Contae Mhaigh Eo, Peter Hynes. The Gnó Mhaigh Eo team attended MeetWest, the largest business networking event in the West of Ireland. The conference took place in the Knockranny House Hotel, Westport, on 21st and 22nd November.

The conference opened on Thursday lunchtime with a welcome speech from Mayo County Manager, Peter Hynes. Afterwards, there were presentations from four business men about their respective successful businesses located in Mayo - Tommy Griffith (PEL Waste Reduction Equipment), Aiden Corcoran (Horizon), Martin O’Hara (O’Hara’s of Foxford) and Pat O’Donnell (Allergan) . The presentations and panel discussion were chaired by former newsreader, Anne Doyle. An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, attended the conference dinner that evening, where he delivered a motivational speech to the attendees.

The schedule for Friday included up to 5,000 arranged one-to-one networking meetings . Delegates had an opportunity to meet with representatives from the various other businesses in attendance. Gnó Mhaigh Eo availed of this opportunity to meet with representatives from Mayo businesses and to talk to them about the possibility of collaboration in the future.
