Teach Mháire Luke

Tá an Ghaeilge an-tábhachtach do Bharbara agus Frank, rugadh agus tógadh le Gaeilge iad agus tá grá acu di dá bharr. Ar ndóigh, tá dreamanna a thagann isteach go Teach Mháire Luke agus ní labhrófaí ach Gaeilge leo. Is breá leis na turasóirí an Ghaeilge a chloisteáil agus bíonn an-spraoi ann agus iad ag déanamh iarrachta ciall a bhaint as na seanfhocail agus nathanna cainte atá le feiceáil ar chomharthaí ar fud an tí.

Tagann daoine ó chuile áit chun blas a fháil ar an gcultúr agus ar an atmaisféar Gaelach i dTeach Mháire Luke. Níl mórán áiteanna ann gur féidir leat an Ghaeilge a chloisteáil chuile lá, níl aon dabht faoi ach go bhfuil an Ghaeilge agus an cultúr beo beathach i dTeach Mháire Luke.

Irish is very important to Barbara and Frank, it was the language of both their households growing up and they have a great love for the language as a result. Of course, there are people who frequent Teach Mháire Luke with whom it would be unnatural to speak anything but Irish. The tourists love to hear Irish spoken and they take great enjoyment from trying to decipher the meanings of the many proverbs and phrases depicted on signs throughout the house.

People travel great distances to sample the Irish culture and atmosphere with which Teach Mháire Luke is imbued. There aren’t many places you can hear Irish spoken every day, and there’s no doubt about it but both the Irish language and culture are alive and well in Teach Mháire Luke.
