CaorAcla Teo

Bunaíodh “CaorAcla Teo" in 2012 chun freastal ar mhargadh na mbialann, na n-óstán agus na ngnólachtaí feola in Éirinn. Soláthraíonn siad uaineoil chaoirigh d’ardchaighdeán, a thógtar ar shléibhte Acla, agus cruthaíonn siad margadh tairbheach agus fiúntach d’fheirmeoirí caora Acla.
Dhírigh siad ar bhialanna den chéad scoth i mBaile Átha Cliath i dtosach báire agus bhí lucht bainistíochta na mbialann agus a gcuid custaiméirí chomh tógtha le blas na huaineola gur méadaíodh líon na n-orduithe agus líon na mbialann a chuir uaineoil Acla ar a mbiachláir. Ag deireadh an tséasúir in 2013, bhí siad ag fáil orduithe ó áiteanna eile sa tír - Gaillimh agus an Cabhán ina measc. Dáiltear uaineoil Acla i veain chuisnithe ar a gcuid soláthraithe i mBaile Átha Cliath uair nó dhó sa tseachtain agus ansin dáileann siadsan an uaneoil ar na bialanna éagsúla sa chathair.

"Tá muid dóchasach go mbeidh méadú suntasach ar éileamh ar ár n-uaineoil in 2014 agus go mbeidh feirmeoirí caorach Acla réidh chun an t-éileamh sin a shásamh," deir Éamonn Mac Sheáin (Stiúrthóir).

Tá an Ghaeilge an-tábhachtach i bhféiniúlacht ghnó Caor Acla Teo. Tá sí le feiceáil ar lipéid, brandáil, stáiseanóireacht, agus ábhar poiblíochta an ghnó. Déanann siad fógraíocht dhátheangach sna meáin áitiúla agus in 2014 beidh an chomharthaíocht “CaorAcla” le feiceáil i gcló ar thaobh a veaineanna cuisnithe. Úsáideann siad an Ghaeilge mar a bpríomhtheanga chumarsáide leis na feirmeoirí caora chomh minic agus is féidir leo.

CaorAcla Teo was founded in 2012, producing high quality lamb and mutton produce from sheep reared on the mountains of Achill in County Mayo, and supplying it to hotels, restaurants and meat businesses across the country. Thus creating an economically profitable and niche market for the Achill Island Sheep farmers.
In the beginning CaorAcla Teo targeted high quality restaurants in Dublin. The restaurant managers and customers of these restaurants were so impressed with the quality and taste of the meat, that orders for the produce increased as did the amount of restaurants who were including Achill Lamb on their menus. At the end of the 2013 season, CaorAcla were receiving orders from other counties such as Galway and Cavan. Achill Lamb is distributed in refrigerated vans twice a week to suppliers in Dublin, who in turn distribute it to the various restaurants in the city.

"We are hopeful that orders will continue to increase in 2014 and that our sheep farmers in Achill will be ready to meet that demand," says Éamonn Mac Sheáin (Director).

Irish is a very important part of CaorAcla's identity. It can be seen on the businesses labels, branding, stationery and publicity material. Their advertising in the local media is bilingual and in 2014 CaorAcla signage will be visible on the side of their distribution vans. They also do their best to conduct as much of their business with the sheep farmers in the Irish language.
